After holding onto a slight one point lead going into halftime 23-22, the Millers’ boys varsity basketball squad failed to score more than 14 points in the second half, while giving up 27 points, and they dropped another game to Muncie South on Thursday evening Feb. 12 at the Mill. This loss drops the Millers’ regular season record to 8-7, including losses to five of their last six opponents.
The Millers’ offensive attack was lead by Junior Leland Brown who scored a game-high 14 points in the loss. Brown was followed by juniors Jake Yeary and Matt Herron, scoring six points and five points, respectively. Freshman Daniel Purvlicis dropped in four points, followed by juniors Zach Gentry and Andrew Lively with four points and two points, respectively.
The Millers will attempt to end their losing streak this Saturday Feb. 14 at The Mill when they host their Hoosier Crossroads Conference foe, the Avon Orioles, in a make-up game of their match up previously scheduled for Jan. 16 but canceled due to harsh weather. The junior varsity game tips off at 2 pm, followed by the varsity game at 3:30 pm.
