But what is the school like after hours, when the corridors are dark and empty, without a student in sight? The third shift custodial staff knows best. Whether practicing word wall words and making crafts with first graders, or teaching how to analyze a story for eighth graders, the Cadet Teaching class allows students to get actual experience in a career that may decide your future. For senior Jami Simcox, the class gives her a chance to see how it really feels to help out a fourth grade class. This class is giving her the opportunity to decide if that is the right path for her future. A year filled with disappointments, a new program, a new head coach, and new expectations…add the pressure of playing the first regular season match up against a hated county foe in a brand-new professional stadium, one not even football’s biggest idols have competed in, and it can sometimes prove to just be too much. Piano lab gets a makeover

Students perform on out-dated keyboards. The keyboards often malfunction, but were recently replaced with new, higher quality Yamaha products. A key thunks down on an out-dated Yamaha keyboard, and the player can’t hear a thing. It’s not because she’s wearing headphones, but because the 13-year-old keyboard has finally fizzled out. But not to worry. For the first time since 1996, new equipment is being installed in the piano lab.
