From the iPods, Mac notebook computers, iPhones, and now to the iPad, Apple keeps on creating revolutionary technology since the 1970s.  According to www.apple.com, the iPad will soon be released April 3 at an unbelievable starting price of $499.  Although it will released in stores April 3, anyone will be able to pre-order the product Mar 12 at the Apple Online Store or to reserve pickup at any Apple Retail Store.

According to the apple store, the 9.7 inch LED-backlit, multi-touch screen on the iPad is based on the same technology used on the iPhone.  However, the technology has been reengineered for a larger surface. Though the iPad is larger, it is still thin and light, only weighing 1.5 pounds and .5 inches thick.

Many unique features are included into the creation of the iPad.  First Apple incorporated a 10-hour battery life, using polymer battery technology, which was first developed from the Mac notebook computers and is now applied to the iPad.

Safari, or Internet, will be available on the iPad, enabling anyone to view web pages one at a time.  With no buttons, only the flick of a finger is needed to scroll, zoom, and tap to view the web, along with videos, photos, and games.

With over 150,000 apps from the App Store, anything from games to business apps can be downloaded onto the iPad.  The newest app created, iBookstore, will allow anyone to download a book from the store and then read it after its downloaded onto the iPad.  More apps such as maps, notes, a calendar, and a contact book will be available.

Moreover in a recently released article on www.apple.com, Apple’s CEO Steve jobs said, “iPad is something completely new.  We’re excited for customers to get their hands on this magical and revolutionary product and connect with their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before.”
