Whether practicing word wall words and making crafts with first graders, or teaching how to analyze a story for eighth graders, the Cadet Teaching class allows students to get actual experience in a career that may decide your future. For senior Jami Simcox, the class gives her a chance to see how it really feels to help out a fourth grade class. This class is giving her the opportunity to decide if that is the right path for her future. These steps are as easy as 1, 2, 3 if a student wants to make the best out of a project for either a science honors class, a scholarship opportunity, or just for fun. The winners at NHS, junior Jake Elkin, and winner at Regionals and State, junior Jonathon Nance, agree these steps will help any student in making a satisfactory science fair project.   1. Don’t bring anything that is important to you.  Just leave all belongings at home except for the tickets and some cash to buy a concert t-shirt afterwards.   4. Make sure you drink a lot of water and eat a good hearty meal before. This will keep your energy high for the duration of the... Read more

Don’t fret!  The bagel line is back and has more to add to the cafeteria.  The reason for the lack of bagel line is a shortage of staff.  The cafeteria workers were sick and unable to do their bagel line duties; therefore, the bagel line was sadly closed for the past month. However,  as of Feb 4, the bagel line is reopened and is now the “grab and go” line.  The bagels and cheese are still located in the specialty line. According to cafeteria worker Cathy Ridings, more items will be added to the grab and go line as time goes on.  As of now, to promote their new products,... Read more
